Clyde Eggert

Clyde Eggert, based in Mackay QLD, passed away in 2019.

Clyde was well known and respected throughout all of QLD as both a manufacturer and supplier of both lapidary machinery and lapidary slabs.

Clyde is remembered and missed by members of the club.

Clyde was a regular and popular vendor to our GemFest.

The following is from the October 2019 issue of QLACCA NEWS

Vale - Clyde Eggert

Clyde was a member of the Beenleigh Club and a delegate for QLACCA INC.

One of his many achievements was the Queensland display that was built at his farm at Alberton and transported by the RAAF to Canberra for an International Gem show. The very large Diamond was something else and won an award at the show.

In later years he and wife Pam, along with son Scott, retired to Mackay, and, where not being satisfied with doing nothing, he built Lapidary machines and equipment, and was a regular at a lot of the Gem shows mainly in North Qld selling his machines and a very large qty of slabs.

If you ever had the opportunity to visit Clyde and Pam at their home at Mackay and experience the warm hospitailty extended to evervone you were one of the very lucky ones.

A true Rockhound, he will be sadly missed by all those fortunate to have known him.
